USA PATRIOT Act Information:

President Bush signed the USA PATRIOT Act into law on October 26, 2001. One section of the USA PATRIOT Act says we must:

  • Verify the identity of any person seeking to open an account which includes:
    • Trust, Investments, Safe Deposit Boxes, Deposit Accounts and Loan Accounts.
  • Maintain records of the information used to verify the person's identity including:
    • Name, address and other identifying information.

The First National Bank of Long Island will follow this law by obtaining picture identification and verifying other information when you open a new account. In all cases, protection of our customer's identity and confidentiality is the Bank's pledge to you.

We proudly support all efforts to protect and maintain the security of our customers and our country.

What this means to you:

When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may ask you for your driver's license or other identity documents.
