Community First Volunteer Program
Team members across the Bank work together to support local missions and community service projects, volunteering their time, often during work hours, to give back to local organizations or service groups. 1N focuses on five outreach areas: Education, Housing & Security, Culture, Environmental Stewardship and Quality of Life. The Bank strives for three small initiatives a month such as helping to organize food pantries, planting community gardens, assisting at senior centers and participating in community beach clean-ups. These efforts are in addition to broader, bank-wide fundraising and team participation efforts such as fundraiser Walks, Blood Drives, Food and Toy Drives and more.

Financial Literacy Programming
First National Bank LI actively participates in National "Teach Children to Save" financial literacy efforts, offering local educational opportunities with the help of a curriculum provided by the American Bankers Association. This program provides areas schools, scouts and family programming organizations the opportunity to begin educating children about finances and how money impacts everyday decisions. The choices we make with our money have a significant impact on our financial well-being.
At First National Bank LI, we’re here to serve area families by helping children:
• Understand the importance of Savings Accounts and the Save Spend Share philosophy
• Learn the basics of Banking with optional Branch tour
• Learn how to create a Budget using our Budget Worksheet
• Learn how to plan and prioritize purchases and the important difference between “Wants and Needs,” helping to teach responsible financial decisions from an early age
The Bank also partners with area Colleges and Universities to further financial literacy knowledge and help students prepare for financial responsibilities upon completion of their degrees.
